All Cherish Jewellery Designs are made with great care to ensure that you will receive a lasting piece to add to your collection. A Cherish Jewellery Designs Care Guidelines Card is attached with each purchase. If you misplace your guidelines card, the care guidelines can be found below in the relevant sections.
Always store jewellery flat and never scrunched or folded as this can damage the beading wire.
Each piece of jewellery should be stored separately where possible to minimise scratching or chipping.
If you have to store together, do so with like items.
Always put your makeup and perfume on before adding your jewellery. Perfume especially can damage the delicate nature of gemstones and pearls and can even change the colour of dyed materials.
Pearl jewellery can be polished with a lint free cloth. Dirty pearls can be cleaned with mild soap and water. Please do not use any abrasives as this will damage their natural nacre surface. Any of your Cherish Jewellery Design pearls that are strung on pure silk will require restringing during their lifetime as silk is a natural fibre. Silk will deteriorate after time and may need to be restrung after approx. 3 years depending on how often you wear them. Please contact me if you would like me to restring your pearls.
Sterling Silver Jewellery
Sterling silver jewellery should be buffed with a soft polishing cloth. If possible it should be stored in an airtight container and kept away from moisture.
Gemstone jewellery can be polished with a lint free cloth. As they are natural stones, certain gemstones are soft unless chemically treated. They can be easy to scratch so please do not use any abrasives as this will damage their natural surface. As with any of your other jewellery it is best to store your gemstone jewellery in separate jewellery bags to keep them from scratching or chipping.
Resin jewellery is quite resistant to most wear and tear, but if it starts to look a little chalky you can buff it with a little bit of baby oil on a soft cloth. Please be careful with other types of beads in your design as the baby oil could be damaging to them.
Wooden jewellery is quite resistant to most wear and tear however, IT does not like water as it is porous substance and this can cause the colours to bleed or change. A dry soft cloth is best when cleaning.
